The 2N7000 (or AO3401 for MOSFET) is a small electronic switch that can be used in several types of circuits. MOSFET is the short form of Metal Oxide Silicon Field Effect Transistor no need worry about this long name. The AO3401 MOSFET is particularly helpful, because it was created to moderate low voltage and current. The source, gate and drain; three fundamental parts of the device which work together. The AO3401 MOSFET has some good features which can be useful in electronic circuit to perform multiple operations. 1 - it is tiny and lightweight which allows to be integrated in design easily, without taking up much space. Unfortunately, this has some cons too. One of the main problem in AO3401 MOSFET is these mosfets are not capable to survive high voltages or current. So, as a result of this limitation it cannot be used under high power like electric cars or heavy machinery applications. Additionally, it has a high RDS(ON), which would have caused power loss/heat dissipation in some circuits. That can be a concern because it might cause waste and even potentially damages of the elements if not handled properly.
